Important Information Regarding COVID-19 for patients visiting Markham Podiatry.

Please note that Markham Podiatry will be open as of Monday May 4th to see patients who have an urgent issue that requires our care. During this time, we will be open on a limited schedule to accommodate patients, and not operating on normal hours that may be listed elsewhere.

Patients to the clinic can expect some changes to the way treatments and service is conducted, but we expect minimal disruption in our ability to treat patients to our full capability. Patients can also expect the clinic to follow the latest and most up-to-date protocols for disinfection and infection control methods, as listed by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario, Health Canada, the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.

All patients require a 2-step screening process, one will occur over the phone when scheduling your appointment with our receptionist, and the other will require each patient to fill out a screening form during each and every visit.

Patients are also expected to:
1. Wear a face mask of some sort. Either a ear-loop mask, a home made mask, or handkerchief/scarf covering their face will suffice. Patients who do not have a facial covering of some sort may be denied entry into the clinic for treatment.
2. Please limit the number of accompanying family members to only the minimal necessary amount, ie. one parent/guardian per child, and a driver for senior patients who cannot travel independently. We understand that in some cases parents may have no place to leave their children while getting treatment, so we will do our best to accommodate in a safe manner.
3. Patients are expected to wash hands at time of entry into clinic, and then when exiting clinic. Patients may also wish to use hand sanitizer, but this is not considered a suitable replacement for washing with warm water and soap for at least 30 seconds.

Thank you kindly for your patience and understanding as we all work together through these extremely difficult times.
